I am honored to continue serving the Irving Elementary team as their principal for the 2018/2019 school year. Along with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, I've completed a graduate program in Educational Leadership in 2014. For the last 8 years I worked at Pershing as their social worker and more recently their assistant principal.
I was born and raised in Elgin, IL and was influenced greatly by a mother who taught school for 40 years, and a father who helped so many during his career as a social worker.
As Irving’s principal, I am here to serve the needs of our students, staff, and families. I will ensure that our children receive quality education.
I am excited for this opportunity to serve the Irving Elementary School community as the Assistant Principal. I come to Irving School with a host of previous roles in education which include classroom teacher, reading specialist, instructional coach, and administrator. I spent my last five years serving as the Director of Reading in Elmwood Park CUSD 401.
I attended DePaul University for my undergraduate degree in Biology/ Secondary Education. After learning from my students their needs for understanding and comprehending science content, I received my Master’s in Reading from Concordia University followed by my National Board Certification in Reading. As a Reading Specialist and Instructional Coach, I realized the impact that I made in instruction with the teachers that I worked with in my buildings. This led me to further pursue my Administrative Degree in Leadership from Concordia University. As a school leader, I believe that every child can succeed to his/her highest potential.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, running, yoga, and reading. This summer I vacationed to Nashville Tennessee with my family. I am proud to say that I have traveled to all 50 states in the USA!
